TOTAL COMMITMENT

Our strong local ties play a key role in CHG-MERIDIAN's success. And we share this success with people, initiatives, projects, and associations that are close to home in the form of charitable donations and sponsorship activities that open up new horizons.

Support for the arts, education, sport, and social causes

Commitment to the communities in which we operate is second nature for us. As a technology company, we have a particular passion for technology, media, and the digital revolution. For example, CHG-MERIDIAN is an official partner of the 2016 D21 Digital Index, and a member of the D21 Initiative. The Initiative, which is supported by the German federal government, has been compiling its index since 2013 to measure how 'digital' the Germans are – and where there are gaps remaining.

We support education providers as well as arts and community-based initiatives. Another priority area is sport, where characteristics such as team spirit, endurance, commitment, and fairness reflect our mission statement. We have been the main sponsor of the Ravensburg Towerstars ice hockey team since the 2003/4 season and with our financial backing it is routinely the top team in the second tier of the league.

The CARE (CHG-MERIDIAN ATTENDS TO ITS REGIONAL ENVIRONMENT) project has enabled us to create a CSR platform on which our employees can help to shape the details of our corporate citizenship. They contribute specific suggestions connected with their region and put them into practice as a team. For its part, the company contributes grants and resources. In this way, we share the success of our company with disadvantaged people.

Creating future prospects

Unlocking more opportunities and creating chances for children is one of our key concerns, which is why we support a wide range of projects and organisations that help to give children a better life.

We work with the Close the Gap organisation to give children in South Africa prospects for the future and provide schools with pre-owned computers in good working order to use as teaching aids. This initiative is currently unique in our industry. Offering a standardised, environmentally friendly, and socially responsible re-use concept for used IT hardware creates a win-win situation for corporate citizenship and customer interests.

We also support the Kinderhaus Wirbelwind childcare center (KiWi) educational scheme run by the Foundation for the Center for the Disabled in Upper Swabia (KBZO). Our aim is to show that being different is normal in society.

Our Christmas donations enable children from low-income families to attend the national scout camp organized by Royal Rangers, an international and interdenominational Christian scout association.

Together with four other companies, we have donated €500,000 to the Schussental Hospice in the center of Ravensburg, thus securing the first five years of the hospice which was built in 2015 and only receives a maximum of 90 percent of its funding from health insurance schemes. It aims to provide terminally ill children with peace, seclusion, and care in the last days of their lives.

Sozialsponsoring Ravensburg, an association of five local charitable organisations, helps people at difficult times in their lives and is committed to creating a more cohesive society. The association's sponsorship campaign received part of our Christmas donation.
